Active balancing circuit design

1. Energy balancing/passive (resistance discharge) The most typical and widely used is discharge balancing. This method uses a heating resistor bypass to release the high-voltage lithium battery,

and the low-voltage is supplemented by charging the whole group. The principle is simple and the production is convenient.

Disadvantage: The temperature of large resistors used for discharge can reach 50-65 degrees, which is very hot!

2. Energy transfer/active balancing (transformer, inductor, supercapacitor), through the intermediate transition device to achieve power transfer rather than excess power consumption,

the loss is only the loss of the transformer and the conversion circuit, so it has the advantages of high energy efficiency and low heat generation.
